How to reach us

By plane
Catania Fontanarossa Airport is very close to the city and is located at the East border of Sicily. National and International flights from most of the European cities land at Catania Fontanarossa Airport. It is possible to reach Messina by bus or train. The easiest way to reach the Stazione Zoologica "Anton Dohrn", Sicily Marine Centre is by bus (SAIS Autolinee). The bus can be taken just outside the arrival terminal at Catania Airport.

– Bus: Sais Autolinee Bus goes directly to the main Station of Messina.

Alternatively, the Reggio Calabria Airport "Tito Minniti" could be also a good option. It is possible to reach Messina by ferryboat :

By train

Central Railway Station is in the center of the city. Domestic and International trains reach Messina Station. 

 

Once in Messina, we suggest to reach the Institute:

- By municipal buses (Line Shittle100, 33bis), direction “Papardo” and get off at the Station Stop "697 - Contemplazione - Villa Bosurgi" (The ticket costs 1.20 € and it is possible to buy it by using the 'MooneyGo' app for smartphone (ATM ticket).

– By Tram: It is possible to take the tram and get off at the terminal (Annunziata, Museo). From there, it is possible to reach the SZN by walking for just twenty minutes along the coastline (wonderful walk!). 
– By Taxi: To reach the Stazione Zoologica “A. Dohrn”, you can ask the driver to use the destination: Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Villa Pace, Contrada Porticatello 29, Messina.
