BY PLANE
CATANIA "FONTANAROSSA" Airport
Located on the eastern edge of Sicily, Catania's Airport is very close to the city of Catania and handles national and international flights, connecting to most major European cities.​​​​
From Catania to Messina
Messina is accessible from Catania via bus or train. For direct access to the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn - Sicily Marine Centre, the SAIS Autolinee bus is the most convenient option. This bus departs directly from outside the Catania Airport arrival terminal and travels to Messina's main train station.

REGGIO CALABRIA "TITO MINNITI" Airport
Located on the mainland side of the Strait of Messina, Reggio Calabria's Airport offers an alternative access point to Messina. ​​​​
From Reggio Calabria to Messina
From the Port of Reggio (Via Candeloro, 89122 RC), travelers can cross the strait by ferry, with services provided by Liberty Lines: https://www.libertylines.it/en/strait-of-messina/.
From Villa San Giovanni to Messina
From the Port of Villa San Giovanni, travelers can cross the strait by ferry, with services provided by Caronte & Tourist.​

BY TRAIN
MESSINA CENTRALE Station
Messina's Central Railway Station, located in the city center, connects to domestic and international train routes.

BY BUS
For a direct route, take Line Shuttle 100 or Line 30 towards "Papardo" and get off at the "697 - Contemplazione - Villa Bosurgi" stop. Alternatively, the 'ATM MovUp' app provides information on other bus lines available from your specific location within Messina. Tickets cost €1.50 and can be purchased through the app.
BY TRAM
Take Line 28 to the terminal stop (Mus., Messina). From there, you can either check the 'ATM MovUp' app for available bus connections to your final destination and to purchase tickets or enjoy a scenic walk along the coastline.
